Ramalingaswami re-Entry Fellowship 2023-24
Applications are invited from Indian Nationals who are currently employed in research institutions overseas to participate in scientific research in India through the Ramalingaswami Re-entry Fellowship (DBT-RRF). This prestigious Re-Entry Scheme, initiated in 2006-2007, is offered by the Department of Biotechnology (DBT), Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India. The DBT-RLS program has played a crucial role in developing a highly skilled and trained pool of researchers who work on cutting-edge technologies in Indian universities and institutions. It has also contributed to the growth of science leaders in the field of biotechnology, with a focus on competence building.
The aim of the fellowship is to attract highly skilled researchers (Indian Nationals) who are currently working overseas in various disciplines of life sciences and biotechnology, bio-engineering, healthcare (human and animal), agriculture and veterinary biotechnology, bio-energy, and related fields. The fellowship provides an attractive opportunity for these researchers to pursue their scientific research and development interests in Indian universities.
Educational Qualification: Applicants should hold a Ph.D./M.D. degree or its equivalent in life sciences/agriculture, bioinformatics, and related areas, or an M.Tech. degree in Biotechnology/allied areas/medicine, etc. They should also have a minimum of three years of post-doctoral research experience in overseas research laboratories. Additionally, applicants should have a proven track record of research publications and recognitions.
Duration: The fellowship duration is three years, with the possibility of extension for an additional two years based on performance appraisal. Fellows will receive a monthly fellowship of Rs.1,00,000/-.
